Avondale In Bloom
Intown enclave Avondale Estates beckons to Gardening enthusiasts with Avondale In Bloom, the annual Garden Tour and MarketPlace in June.
A unique municipality brimming with small-town character, historic architecture and lovingly tended landscapes. Avondale Estates hosts this tour to celebrate the artistic spirit realized both in traditional media and plants. A highlight of this tour is that in each of the featured gardens, an artist will be painting live on site as visitors stroll by.
With an artists’ market, book sale, children’s marke,t plant sale, lecture series and outdoor café, Avondale In Bloom provides an escape from the city into an enchanted haven of enjoyment and inspiration for the whole family.

AutumnFest
AutumnFest, a celebration of the Arts for all Ages attracts Art mavens to historic Avondale Estates in late October. The colors of Fall merge with the brilliance of Art to create a unique flavor for this event. The Festival features an Art Show and Artists’ market featuring more than 50 regional artists selling original paintings, folk art, metal sculpture, ceramics, photography, glass, jewelry, textiles and various crafts.
Live performances include Americana music, dance and performing arts for Children staged by Avondale’s own Academy Theater. Coupled with arts-themed activities for kids and other recreational activities, AutumnFest equates to a perfect excursion for the whole family.

Art in the Afternoon
This tour demonstrates a unique concept for an afternoon of relaxation and admiration of fine Art in historic Avondale Estates. This community, one of the South’s earliest planned developments dating from 1927, named for the Avon River seen taken from William Shakespeare’s writings, opens its doors to welcome a Juried Art Walk throughout the city.
This tour infuses a traditional “Afternoon Tea” concept and takes it to another level by including an Art Sale with the Artists on site in select historic homes throughout Avondale Estates in mid-September.
Iced Tea, Hot Tea, Scones and various delights compliment the atmosphere and beckon Art Enthusiasts.
